A 28” necklace made with beads individually hand formed out of paper pulp and hardening additives
The color of the beads is a sea-foam green with flecks of real gold leaf
Each bead is hand formed into an organic shape resembling a natural stone
The hardware consists of a gold colored lobster claw clasp and delicate chain that allows the necklace to sit comfortably on the back of the neck
Includes a jewelry box made from the same handmade paper, with a gold and white design created by spray painting pressed botanicals as a stencil
The process of making the beads includes adding a water-resistant retention agent and archival booking glue to the paper pulp, and a clear coat designed for jewelry to the entire necklace once it is complete. Excessive moisture should be avoided, but there are multiple layers of material that allow for normal wear. The pulp used for the beads is the same archival, high quality material I use for my handmade paper stationery.
This is a lightweight and stylish necklace you won't find any where else. No one will suspect the beads are made from paper, and is always a great conversation starter when you wear it!
